Your Role:
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will lead a small team responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the depot | yard & stores ensuring the efficient running and on-time delivery of projects.
Some of you key activities will include:
- Ensuring the safe and efficient running of the depot | yard
- Coordinating daily load sheets for the timely delivery of materials & equipment to job sites
- Managing the receipt, storage, and dispatch of materials & equipment
- Ordering stock, managing inventory levels and maintaining accurate records of same
- Coordinating with suppliers and transport providers for pick ups & deliveries
- Organising depot layout to optimise space and streamline operations
- Managing fleet vehicles & ensuring routine maintenance is completed
- Leading a small team of yard people
Required Skills & Experience:
- Previous experience in depot | yard management, preferably in construction, local government or related industries
- Well-developed organisation and time management skills
- Ability to lead a team
- Experience coordinating load sheets, logistics, stock ordering, and inventory management
- Good understanding of safety regulations & compliance
- Initiative; problem solving; and effective communication skills
