Reporting to the Chief People Officer (CPO), you will be responsible for assisting with the strategical and operational People & Culture related requirements of the 'centre' with a strong focus on workforce strategy that drives organisational excellence, delivers an agile & capable workforce, and applies best practice people management.

 

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the People & Culture team to ensure the delivery of effective workforce management  & People & Culture services that support corporate priorities & commercial objectives including compliance with current legislation, Australian Public Service, and EA requirements
  • Leading, mentoring, managing & developing the People & Culture team
  • Designing and delivering best-practice  workforce management including policies, procedures, systems & frameworks
  • Ensuring talent attraction strategy is embedded in the team
  • Designing organisational development and succession plan for all roles
  • Ensuring training needs assessments are conducted regularly and relevant training & development programs are sourced and delivered
  • Reviewing the performance management process to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Analysing workplace culture data and employee engagement survey results and develop & implement relevant cultural change strategy to address issues
  • Preparing workforce-related reports

 

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Previous experience in a similar role with the Australian Public Sector (Federal | Commonwealth government preferred)
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications - Degree preferred
  • Proven ability to influence and manage high-performing teams
  • Experience in the development of workforce culture and capability and implementing org development initiatives along with managing workforce related change projects including business transformation & culture change & restructures
  • Knowledge of contemporary, best-practice approaches to people management including IR & ER, performance management, L&D practices, and an appreciation of current issues & trends within the public sector
