This local government organisation is seeking an experienced Waste and Resource Project Officer to assist with the management of various waste and resource recovery projects. This large local government is one of Sydney most prestigious and this role will look great on your resume!

Duties will include:

  • Develop, implement and evaluate waste/recycling  projects
  • Working with local residents and businesses to reduce waste in the local area
  • Ensuring compliance with council policies and procedures
  • Data analysis
  • Delivering waste educational programs
  • Building essential relationships with external contractors
  • Ensuring project budgets are managed and projects are delivered within specified timeframes
  • Weekly/Monthly reporting
  • Understanding customer and community needs

Essential requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in either Environmental Management and/or Project Management
  • Experience in promoting, implementing and evaluating waste initiatives
  • Previous experience in project management and contract management
  • Outstanding communication skills - ability to deal with all levels
  • Drivers license
  • Advanced MS Office skills particularly MS Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables)
